Scuba diving in False bay offers a large selection for diving which includes majestic kelp forests, beautiful shallow coral gardens, and deep reefs, recent and old shipwrecks, and seal dives. False Bay has been recognized as a biodiversity hotspot due to the number of endemic animals living in these waters.

The reef is vibrant and full of life. False Bay boasts numerous nudibranchs, interesting crab species, and lobsters, colorful anemones, feather-stars, brittle-stars, varied sea sponges, sea-fans, octopuses, and cuttlefish, as well as colorful fish such as the Klipvis, of which there are 34 known species in False Bay alone.

The commonly dived wrecks vary in depth and can range between 12m to 40m and are therefore suitable for a wide range of dive qualifications.

Requirements:

  • Open water or equivalent
  • Dived within the past 6-months and be comfortable in the water
