For me, there is just no greater place than the ocean...

The ocean is a place where I can live and let go, where I have the most fun and feel the most happy, but above all that, it's where I feel the most connected.

There is just something so powerful about being able to breathe under the water's surface, to be able to float in a place where all the worldly distractions grow faint. Where you get to listen to the crackling of the kelp, and the waves plunging above you. You have this incredible opportunity to gaze at the delicate underwater world, witnessing all its creatures.

This is when I get to take time to notice the hidden treasures of God's creation… where I encounter creatures that seem almost otherworldly.

Under water. Where the radiant anemones put you in a trance, where the vast blue ocean will keep you staring, and where the whole world around you seems to disappear when you look into the eyes of nature's precious creatures that occupy the depths of ocean… that's where you will find me.

It was here where I first learned to breathe.

Beneath the surface lies a world of colours that come to life, a wonder to explore. Every inch of the ocean floor is teeming with life, it’s an underwater paradise out of sight. The sheer scale and majesty of this underwater landscape that offers a home for so many is something that cannot be described but rather something that must be experienced in order to fully grasp.

Yes, the giant boulders, towering cliffs and deep canyons all contribute to the sense of adventure and exploration that makes each dive a unique experience.

But, it is the marine life and the oceanic fauna that hold the ultimate testament to the incredible power and diversity of nature. The delicate ocean, with its vastness and beauty, harbours an array of creatures that play an indispensable role in maintaining the ecological balance of our planet.

From the tiny coral polyps that build intricate reefs to the unique behaviours of all sea creatures. The ocean holds secrets that are yet to be discovered, mysteries waiting to be unravelled, and a beauty that defies human comprehension.

The sea ignites my curiosity.

“The ocean deserves our respect and care, but you have to know something before you can care for it”
- Sylvia Earle

Diving ultimately reminds me of how little time we have to experience and appreciate the wonders of our planet.

I am surrounded in an environment where the opportunity, to learn and to educate others about our delicate blue ocean, is boundless. It finally feels like I have to fit in a piece of my puzzle. I’ve always found myself digging a little deeper, craving to know more, and eager to share any new discoveries. Now, I have like-minded people to share, explore, and discover more about our heart of the blue planet, the ocean.

To me, scuba is not just a sport, it’s a passion, an obsession, a connection to the inner me. It is a portal to a world that few people ever get to experience. It’s a reminder of the beauty and diversity that exists in our oceans… its a beauty we neglect, of a world we must protect.
